Is there any decent #WordPress themes out there that aren’t just blocks and patterns that force you to build your own website? I want a theme that’s opinionated and decides all that crap for me so I can just throw my work details in and get back to editing podcasts. Anyone?
I gave up, to be honest. Toying with ghost , but need to wait until my Wordpress subscription ends.
@BenSouthwood Yeah I have Ghost on my personal blog and am really happy with it. I don’t want to spend a ton of time converting portfolio work on my biz site… but that may be the best option for future me. :)
@ichris check out themeforest!
Looks good (signed up). I’m trying to work out how I can use everything, m.b and ghost. I’d rather not repeat posts anywhere, but the majority of creatives seem to have multiple places to post these days.
@amber Yes! I'd forgotten about them in my years away from thinking about WordPress themes.
I love the design of your company? website btw! That's a nice mix of casual + professional.
@BenSouthwood Yeah that’s a struggle I have as well. I really like Microblog and the community, but don’t love it for longer form blogging. But I’m also not sure how to integrate Mb into Ghost / blog in a meaningful way. So for now, they’re two separate worlds. 🤷♂️
@ichris thank you!! our designs are so talented, I'm jealous of them myself lol
I’m just playing around with ghost at the moment. My want is to have one personal blog and another highlighting how I organise my writing with Ulysses and Apple apps. Not sure if I can do that on one site, I have two seprate blogs here but not convinced it’s working for me.
@ichris I'm not on WP anymore but when I was I used themes by Anders Noren. Free, minimal, beautiful. The ones I used didn't require much from me except putting in my bits and pieces. https://andersnoren.se/teman/
@ichris I loved Pulitzer as a clean no nonsense theme.
I’ve landed on Pulitzer .. love the art of Bjork . But Pulitzer is an aspiration. - so it might help 😜
@ichris nothing good that i've seen
