Apparently U2’s new microsite for the space baby is powered by Astro. Love when my nerd world and my music world collide sometimes.

My new podcast is called “Who the heck is actually using Dropbox for signing documents” where I scour the globe trying to find anyone who wants Dropbox for anything besides syncing files.

Flu shot in the left arm, COVID vaccine in the right. Left was sore during the day. Right was more sore while trying to sleep. I guess what I’m saying is: Go get your vaccine / flu shots.

Waiting on my microchip installation so Trudeau can make me post government conspiracy content on tiktok.

We woke up to snow on the ground today. For the first time in a long time, I managed to get the winter tires on our van AND the sprinklers blown out before it snowed. I feel like I should buy a lottery ticket or something.

If a friend asks for a video screencast of what you meant in your feature suggestion for their app, do you also make sure to pinhole your webcam so that it looks like you’re a large foreheaded weirdo sending a video?

No? Just me?

Screencapture of me with a pinhole effect applied to my webcam image so that my nose and mouth are tiny but my forehead / hair are huge in comparison.

Related to the annoying lights on every electronic thing—the Eero 6+ pucks have a setting for each one that lets you decide if you want the status light on or not. It’s also interesting to see which devices connect to which puck in your house, it’s not always the nearest puck.

Every review of a bedside charging brick should state whether it has a light on it that can’t be turned off. If it does, the review should just read “nope”.

I’m restarting my newsletter again (again x 3), this time as a “Thoughts I Would’ve Tweeted if Elon Hadn’t Barfed on Twitter” weekly summary of things I find on the internet, podcasts I’ve enjoyed, and 280 character thoughts I would’ve tweeted. Sign up here 💌

I love that Buttondown lets you set a canonical URL for each newsletter you send out, that way you can have a blog post at your website with the same (or similar) content that gets the traffic when subscribers click for a web version.

This will help search engines understand that your newsletter is a mirror of your other publication, and drive traffic from the emails to your other publication.

What a coincidence that Apple’s movie also happens to be trending in Apple’s App Store.

If Twitter thinks paying $1 will deter bot makers on Twitter, clearly they’ve never been to a concert where someone’s paid over $300 to get so drunk they can’t remember where they are only to get thrown out after three songs.

I’m listening to music (random #U2 if you must know or haven’t guessed already) but I have to turn it off to edit podcasts.

Sadly I still haven’t mastered listening to something in one ear, and something entirely different in the other ear. 😵‍💫

Somehow the 2nd gen AirPort Express I bought back in ~2012 continues to work and stream music to my stereo. I keep waiting for the update that breaks it, and I have to go buy a new AirPlay supported amp.

I think it’s my oldest + still in use Apple product.

U2’s version of So Cruel from The Sphere is a beautiful example of the harmonies Bono and Edge have perfected over the 32 (!) years since Achtung Baby’s release.

Might have to upgrade to macOS Sonoma just so Reminders can sync the auto-sorted grocery lists. I look forward to when you can specify which grocery store you’re in and have it add aisles and directions. 😆
