Podcasting
The one perk of it getting darker earlier is less time of the day where hard pants are needed. Today’s shirt is the best podcast hosting shirt you can get.
#Selfie a day for a year, day 79, Nov 5, 2025 edition.
Draft blog post in my head about how podcasts like The Lonely Island + Seth Meyers remind me of a time when I was seen / known by friends and peers. Somehow they seem to have been able to do that into adulthood. Is that a perk of being in show business? Being rich? Celebrity? Good people?
My lukewarm take: The only good use for AI in podcasting is figuring out who would make for good co-hosts together based on the hours and hours of transcripts it slurps in.
Like Tinder but for podcast buddies.
Wild to me that Riverside (podcast recording / editing app) would promote a translation feature using footage (or AI generated footage?) from an AppleTV show, The Morning Show.
There’s no way AppleTV licensed this to them, right?

We may be reaching peak podcasts about Satanic Panic: a new show that just started called “The Devil You Know” has Sarah Marshall (host of You’re Wrong About) digging into it.
I dig Justin’s 10m tutorial on how easy it is to start a podcast in 2025. The tools have made it as easy as starting a blog was back in the day.
I listened to another great episode of Heavyweight, “The Messenger”, and it’s almost frustrating how effortless Jonathan Goldstein and crew make storytelling seem.
I’m glad that Heavyweight is back in a regular release schedule. “Etta” is a masterclass in #podcast storytelling, humour, and life packed into less than 40 minutes.
I’m wondering what your favorite podcast is right now?

It’s telling that a lot of the AI “help you edit your video / podcast” tools have no idea what to do with human laughter. They sometimes mute it or amplify it in weird ways. Or cut it off awkwardly. Sometimes they leave it alone entirely. But rarely do they get it right in my experience.
