Editing a podcast while the von Trapp’s & Don Draper look over my shoulder. (I really need to get around to hanging more of my Stanley Chow artwork.)

Do we have any idea what apps like Riverside / Descript / etc. used for their training data for AI? All the #podcast episodes podcasters put out into the world for people to listen to now getting slurped up for them to charge us $50/month to use as a reference point? (I don’t know the answer.)

Turns out it only takes about 16 minutes to get a #podcast out into the world. Watch the video on my YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe to Annie’s new podcast! šŸ˜†

Can I make a new (silly) podcast over my lunch break? Only one way to find out - come hang out live: www.chrisenns.com/live

The one perk of it getting darker earlier is less time of the day where hard pants are needed. Today’s shirt is the best podcast hosting shirt you can get.

#Selfie a day for a year, day 79, Nov 5, 2025 edition.

A man wearing glasses is taking a mirror selfie in a bathroom, wearing a T-shirt with a Transistor.fm design.

Draft blog post in my head about how podcasts like The Lonely Island + Seth Meyers remind me of a time when I was seen / known by friends and peers. Somehow they seem to have been able to do that into adulthood. Is that a perk of being in show business? Being rich? Celebrity? Good people?

My lukewarm take: The only good use for AI in podcasting is figuring out who would make for good co-hosts together based on the hours and hours of transcripts it slurps in.

Like Tinder but for podcast buddies.

Wild to me that Riverside (podcast recording / editing app) would promote a translation feature using footage (or AI generated footage?) from an AppleTV show, The Morning Show.

There’s no way AppleTV licensed this to them, right?

We may be reaching peak podcasts about Satanic Panic: a new show that just started called ā€œThe Devil You Knowā€ has Sarah Marshall (host of You’re Wrong About) digging into it.

I dig Justin’s 10m tutorial on how easy it is to start a podcast in 2025. The tools have made it as easy as starting a blog was back in the day.

I listened to another great episode of Heavyweight, “The Messenger”, and it’s almost frustrating how effortless Jonathan Goldstein and crew make storytelling seem.

I’m glad that Heavyweight is back in a regular release schedule. “Etta” is a masterclass in #podcast storytelling, humour, and life packed into less than 40 minutes.

I’m wondering what your favorite podcast is right now?

#Selfie a day for a year, day 48, Oct 5, 2025 edition.

A bearded individual with glasses looks off to the side, with a thoughtful expression, seated against a cushion.

It’s telling that a lot of the AI “help you edit your video / podcast” tools have no idea what to do with human laughter. They sometimes mute it or amplify it in weird ways. Or cut it off awkwardly. Sometimes they leave it alone entirely. But rarely do they get it right in my experience.

My number one tip for anyone starting a podcast: Remember to unmute your mic before you start recording.

“Just wait until you hear how all those quotes from Jane Goodall were taken out of context.” - Hour two of a Joe Rogan podcast I assume??

I know the spambots wouldn’t respect it, but it’d be sweet if there was a podcastguesting:yes/no tag in the RSS spec so you could say “we’re not open to random solicitation for guests on our podcast.” So much spam emails about guest opportunities for someone’s boss who wrote a book.

Happy #Survivor is back on to all who celebrate! Every season I think it’d be such a fun show to do a podcast on, but inevitably with life + kids + stuff it’s too difficult to keep up with a live show like that.

Any #podcasters take the plunge on macOS 26 already? Any issues recording or working with common websites or apps?
