If all you’ve ever experienced is Spotify’s interface for uploading #podcast episodes, I hope some day you get to experience a proper podcast hosting company’s user interface and realize how much nicer it can be to prep your show each week.

Spotify is so committed to #podcast hosting that 6 years after buying Anchor for $340 million, they still use it for your official RSS feed if you host your podcast on Spotify.

If you host a podcast and spend the time your guest(s) are speaking planning how to steer the conversation back to your own experiences instead of actively listening, you are failing your audience. Ask follow up questions. Be curious. You’re the voice for the listeners, not yourself.

I really enjoy Subway Takes as a series, and I also appreciate that Kareem (or someone on his team) takes the time to credit who’s involved, even though it’s made to feel like a two person randomly made show.

Don’t feel bad if you’re struggling to figure out how to fund your podcast. The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers published an episode of their podcast with 25* ad reads just so they could keep it going and they’re rich and famous.
