Via @manton - the omg.lol folks are adding a micro podcasting feature called Spake. I love this kind of experimentation in audio and podcasting.

Quickly mowed the lawn before more rain hits this afternoon. Now I’m a sweaty mess and putting on headphones to edit podcasts isn’t a great experience. ๐Ÿฅต

I hate trying to pick out music beds for my own podcast ideas. I love something and think it’s amazing on the first 10 listens, and then on the 11th I hear how cheesy, awkward, and just not right it is.

Even for show ideas that just end up in the bin. ๐Ÿ˜†

Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel on “how to podcast”, I generally send people to Transistor’s excellent How to Start a Podcast series they’ve put together. It’s a great primer on all things podcasting from start to finish.

Oooh Pocket Casts (my podcast app of choice) added a browser extension so you can subscribe on the web and have it easily show up in your app later. Nifty.

It’s been a while since I’ve added a new podcast to Apple’s Podcasts Connect site manually. Is it normally a 2-3 day process? I’m just trying to get my Micro.blog podcast feed in there which works fine.

Welcome To My Micro Podcast!

Podcasting is now included in Micro.blogs $5/month or $50 a year plan so I thought Iโ€™d try it out. Hello world!

Forget Dolby Atmos surround bass booming, I need the best speaker for listening to poorly edited podcasts in the shower?

I really just want to blog and podcast all my thoughts and feelings out into the internet but sadly I have to work? WTF is this?

Time to reset the clock on days since I’ve been jump-scared by someone coming into my office while I’m editing a podcast: 0.

I added Gandalf to this clip from last night’s Oilers / Canucks game and it’s going around hockey tiktok in a non-toxic way. It’s nice to just have a laugh at silly things grown men on skates do sometimes.

Squarespace being bought will almost certainly mean the end of whatever amount of “free-ish” ride podcasters have had on there. “…all seamlessly interwoven with intuitive GenAI.” ๐Ÿคฎ

I just want to do a little podcast where we talk about neat things that we like and maybe get to rant a little every so often and have everyone on who wants to be kind and scheduling isn’t hard and enough people listen that it’s validating but not so many that it’s mentally exhausting.

I keep having ideas for a podcast I want to do, but then realize what I actually want is free therapy by using my guest’s advice to help fix me. ๐Ÿ˜†

American lawmakers continue to look stupid in the way they’re attempting to ban TikTok: The Secret Push That Could Ban TikTok. Go after data collection and privacy concerns in tech, rather than just targeting an app because you don’t like the content on it.

I’ve gotten the privilege to edit Marie Poulin & Ben Borowski’s podcast, Grief & Pizza.

If you’re interested in Notion, work / home systems, or creating content in general, I’d recommend subscribing wherever you get your podcasts.

A bunch of web based recording apps for podcasters are going to end up pulling a Dropbox and add a whole bunch of features nobody wants.

Podcasters want a 100% reliable, high quality recording app. That’s it. Do that and you’ll have our money forever.

I don’t think it’s healthy for me (or society in general) to know that people stop watching a video of me talking after 2 seconds. ๐Ÿ˜†

I should stick to podcasting where there’s way less analytics available to punish my ego with.

Analytics on a tiktok video posted to my account that says โ€œMost viewers stopped watching at 0:02. Play the video below to see when they lost interest.โ€

I remain undefeated in setting up ways to contact me about my podcast editing work, and then never checking in to see if anyone has contacted me.

This time it was my ๐Ÿ‹ bizโ€™s Facebook page I think? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ
