Podcasting
The ShopTalk Show Discord gave me an idea for a new podcast based on the premise that people—developers in this case—need to meet more actual mediocre white guys in order to boost their own confidence, and realize how little some people know who keep getting promoted. 😆
I’m sure it’s a coincidence that Riverside tries to tack on podcast hosting to their services the same week that a client has a recording be the most out of sync (video to audio) that I’ve seen in years… but it’s sure not building a lot of confidence for me with their app.
I’ve posted about this before, but I did a quick video version of how easy it is to enable Bluesky comment replies on your podcast episode pages with Transistor podcast hosting.
New blog post: Adding Video Streaming to Your Podcast with HLS
A client recently revived a show that’s been on hiatus for 2.5 years and it’s nice how comforting it is to hear their familiar voices in my ear again. It will be interesting to see how many folks maintained their podcast subscription over that time period when the new episode goes out.
Podcast / Notion idea for someone to build: Monitor the podcast’s RSS feed and when the episode comes out matching the title in Notion, adjust the status to “published”.
I’m not sure what I was going to put here, but I kind of wish I would’ve finished this disgusting ring tone product on my Gumroad account way back when. 😆
If you’re seeing this, I’m live now on Twitch demoing recording and editing a podcast using Riverside with tim.
If you’re curious how it works to record and edit a podcast using a tool like Riverside, today I’m going to demo it… live on stream? Seems like a bad idea.
Join Tim and I in just under an hour on Twitch or YouTube to see how it goes.
Every time I think I should start a new #podcast, I just watch this video.
