Trying out Greg Morris’ new iOS app for Micro.blog: Micro Social.

“It’s cold enough I bet you could freeze some water out there.” is not something we ever say around here.

A weather app screenshot shows Saskatoon with a temperature of -35°C, extreme cold warning, and partly cloudy conditions with varying temperatures from -28°C to -23°C.

My throat is a little sore tonight which I’m sure is unrelated to the sickness three people in my family had over the last week.

What are the odds I’d get sick too? 🤷‍♂️ 😢

Turns out Neville’s a big Severance fan.

Neville Dogbottom sitting on a couch propping his head up on the arm rest watching a TV showing an episode of Severance on AppleTV+

One of those times when reading to one of my kids before bed and the book is so good I don’t realize they’ve fallen asleep.

Have to re-read the last chapter tomorrow night I guess.

Photo of a page from Station Eleven: No more Internet. No more social media, no more scrolling through litanies of dreams and nervous hopes and photographs of lunches, cries for help and expressions of contentment and relationship-status updates with heart icons whole or broken, plans to meet up later, pleas, complaints, desires, pictures of babies dressed as bears or peppers for Halloween. No more reading and commenting on the lives of others, and in so doing, feeling slightly less alone in the room. No more avatars.

Caught a WHL hockey game tonight (Saskatoon Blades beat the Regina Pats). The main attraction at any hockey game is actually the food, of course. The poutine didn’t disappoint. 😋

If we could get a week of -15C instead of -30C, that’d be awesome for everyone. 🥶

A golden doodle puppy dog named Neville stands on a snow-covered path surrounded by snowbanks and trees under a clear blue sky.

I complain about going to my kid’s hockey games, but I actually do enjoy (most of) it. I’m glad he’s on a team that takes a chill approach to winning or losing, but still wants to play well and get better. Which makes the community of parents fun to be around as well.

It’s still dang cold sometimes.
