Ok let’s see if @chriscoyier has a blog post coming up on this: What’s the best iPhone car mount with magsafe charging? The only one Apple lists is a $110 mophie vent mount which I always feel a bit sketchy about using vents to hold up the phone.

What’s in your vehicle?

That’s twice in one week where @chriscoyier has read my mind on a decision I was waffling on and written a blog post telling me exactly what I should do. Earlier it was web hosting, this time it’s about using subdomains for your side projects.

Based off of nothing more than this blog post by Robin Rendle, I’m tempted to order a Kobo Libra 2 e-reader. Anyone else have one? I can’t do Kindle because they don’t work with the libraries here in Canada.

Love the renewed focus on iPad apps. First Camo releases Camo Studio and now the makers of Halide, a popular photography for iPhone, have published Orion an app that allows you to use your iPad as an external monitor.

I kind of want an iPad again. ๐Ÿงž

AppleTV rant update: Apparently tvOS 17 does support FaceTime on all Apple TV 4K boxes, not just second gen models as I previously thought. It works pretty slick.

Now if I only had people I needed to FaceTime. ๐Ÿ˜†

โ€œI imagine this is what it feels like when youโ€™re on a phone call with someone and towards the end of the call you hear a distinct flushing sound.โ€

I’ve been messing with WordPress again and was just thinking “Dang, I wish there was a nice WP theme like Atomic Themes from Mike Mcalister back in the day” - and then realized he’s built one called Ollie.

A watched Watch never finishes.

Apple Watch Series 6 updating to watchOS 10. Half way done. U2 Funko pop characters in the background.

Apple has released iOS17 (and watchOS, tvOS, HomePod, etc.) today. Be sure to check out the new AirDrop animation. โœจ

I realized why Friday seemed to go so smoothly and it’s because I forgot about editing a podcast episode that’s due first thing Monday morning. Luckily something triggered my brain to think about it.

Costco queso dip to the rescue for some late night editing. ๐Ÿ˜‹

I love Maggie Appleton’s website. Both the design and UI, as well as very smart words.

22 of 1,909. It’s a start. ๐Ÿ˜†

All I’m asking for is if I do a Google search in Safari, my Mac Studio M2 Max powered computer from the future doesn’t have to spin up my external hard drives to do that. Is that too much to ask?

I guess I should’ve gone for 64GB of RAM.

I see Substack in the URL, I get an ick and wait for the pop up while Iโ€™m reading the words you wrote deciding if itโ€™s worth hanging around.

I see Buttondown in the URL, Iโ€™m likely subscribing because I know you care about your readers.

Any podcast nerds know if a USB-C enabled iOS device (iPad? iPhone 15?) can just take a USB-C mic plugged in directly as a recording device? Because that would make your phone a pretty slick mobile recorder paired with something like a Shure MV7.

Any friends running Audio Hijack, Loopback, Farrago, or other awesome Rogue Amoeba software - check their status page for updates for macOS 14 (Sonoma) which is coming out next week I believe.

I don’t know what they are because I only hear the words “web components” on podcasts I edit, but the newly launched Luro “…is a no-code solution to track component usage, adoption, and success across your entire product.”

Plus it looks great. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Just one time I want to hear: “This is by far our second best iPhone lineup yet - second only to the iPhone lineup we had in 2019. That was such a great year.”
