My dad once said to me “maybe you won’t get to actually do the thing, but you’ll get to work on the thing that someone else is doing” and I’ve gone back and forth in life on whether I’m ok with that idea. Sometimes, yes. Other times it’s really depressing to not be able to do my own “thing”.

I used to refresh Macrumors.com to find out about new Apple hardware or software.

My kids watch a live stream of someone else refreshing the Fortnite servers waiting for a new season to launch.

Itโ€™s the circle of life. ๐Ÿฆ

I’m convinced this is the same guy at 29 and at 54 and nobody can tell me otherwise.

โ€œโ€ฆengage with digital peopleโ€ WTF?! Is that seriously how tech startup bros are trying to rebrand โ€œtalking to an AI computer programโ€? ๐Ÿคฎ

You can now speak face-to-face with a digital agent, powered by LLM and RAG technology, changing how people engage with AI and digital people. ๐Ÿš€ Please support us with your feedback.&10;&10;&10;Sella Blondheim

I don’t know why it sends me to frustrated dad town whenever my kids walk around with one earbud in listening to something, but here I am. ๐Ÿ˜ช

Heads up: iOS 17.4 has a security fix in addition to features that make it worth upgrading sooner than later.

Iโ€™ve seen people on tiktok freaking out about this setting for Appleโ€™s Journal app, but very little in the Apple blogs. If someone is in your contacts and youโ€™re nearby, Journal can suggest you to them, or them to you for an entry. Seems like a potential privacy issue?

Dang I should buy a lottery ticket tonight. ๐Ÿ˜†

Snow / driving update in Saskatoon: If you can get out of your driveway, you should be fine in most of the city. Aside from the mountains of snow everywhere, a lot of the roads have been cleared of the worst of the snow piled on them.

Interesting update to Ecamm Live 4.2, including a tie in with Scenery which looks like a Descript transcription / video editing competitor.

Played a bit of Breath of the Wild on my Twitch channel. Not sure how much interest there is in someone trying to finish a 7 year old game. ๐Ÿ˜†

So tired of shovelling. Thanked the neighbor with the snowblower by giving him a couple ๐Ÿป. And the snow is still falling. ๐Ÿ˜ด

Just saw my first snowmobile driving down the middle of the street. Should be a fun day here in Saskatchewan.

๐ŸŽ‰to the neighborhood hero out snowblowing the sidewalk.

Thanks to the impending snowpocalypse this weekend, the hockey tournament has been rescheduled. Dang. Now I have a free weekend. What to do? (Besides shovelling snow.)

Good lord this NextDoor man comparing his grandpa’s stolen tractor to what happened with Residential Schools in Canada to the First Nations people and how everyone needs to get over it. Get me off this ride.
